Dr. Rajendra Prasad Mishra
Dr Rajendra Prasad Mishra is the Coordinator in Species Recovery Division at the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) and Regional Head- Central India. With over twenty-two years of research and project management experience in the fields of wildlife conservation & Management; Sustainable Forest Management (SFM); Medicinal Plants and Non-Timber Forest Products Management and plant taxonomy, he is key to WTI’s critical work in conserving the state animal of Chhattisgarh. With M.Sc. (Environmental Biology), PhD (Wildlife), Certificate course (Certificate in Rural Management, Disaster Management), he has written extensively on matters relating to wildlife and the environment that include four books, five research project reports, more than 50 reputed research papers and articles. Dr Mishra is a member of IUCN-SSC Wild Cattle Specialist Group; member of Appraisal of six tiger reserves in India and member of the monitoring committee of village relocation in the tiger reserves of Rajasthan and Uttarakhand states from NTCA, Govt. of India. He is also a member of several committees on wildlife wing in Chhattisgarh state including State Wildlife Advisory Board, Tiger Conservation Foundation (TCF), Gate Money, Flexi fund, Management plans etc. Trekking, photography and listening to old songs keep this scientist relaxed in his leisure time. Kabaddi is also a passion with Dr Mishra, who participated in regional and national level Kabaddi competitions.
