Conservation of birds and their critical habitats has been an integral part of WTI’s conservation efforts, for over 20 years. Upholding this spirit, WTI through its Rapid Action Project (RAP) is glad to announce small grants upto INR 2 lakh each ( for at least 5 projects) targeting at the conservation of birds and their habitat, anywhere in India. RAP will offer financial support for projects based on the following criteria:
- Target Species: Avian fauna
- Urgent/critical: The project must be of urgent and critical need
- Conservation worthy: The project must be of significance to wildlife conservation and have achievable objectives
- Rapid implementation: As the name suggests, RAP expects a rapid implementation on the ground, to thwart the conservation threat effectively (within 12 months)
- Short term: The project duration should not exceed one year
- Cost-effective: Budgets should be flexible and not involve a huge financial outlay
Funding is open to grassroot wildlife organizations, educational institutions, and committed individuals. The grant application window will close by February 25th, 2020.
Interested applicants are required to download the RAP format by clicking the link. The same needs to be duly filled and submitted to rap@wti.org.in. Once the receipt of your application is confirmed by the project team, the proposed project will be evaluated by panel members and approve it, if the details (project information and statutory compliances) are found satisfactory. Procedural exceptions are permitted in extremely urgent cases.
