Are you a photographer? If you have a geo referenced image of the white winged duck in its natural habitat anywhere in the north-east India EXCEPT Nameri-Pakke and Dehing-Patkai, we offer you Rs 5000/- for your photo. Read on:
- Is this a contest for a Rs 5000/- prize?
- No, this is not a competition but we are looking for great images of a rarely seen species, hence the incentive of Rs 5000/- for your contribution.
- What kind of photos can I submit?
- You may send geo-referenced images in high resolution, at least 300 dpi of the white winged duck in its natural habitat anywhere in north-east India EXCEPT Nameri-Pakke and Dehing-Patkai. Images without location co-ordinates will not be eligible for the cash incentive.
- Why are images from Nameri-Pakke and Dehing-Patkai not eligible?
- We are looking at documenting the presence of the white winged duck from locations other than its current range. The bird has already been photographed on several sightings in Nameri-Pakke and Dehing-Patkai. Its presence in other locations and states of the north east will be of immense scientific value.
- What will you do with the images?
- All images will be used for a scientific publication with due credit to the contributor. A set of the best images would also be published on a special edition calendar for 2022 with due credit to the contributor.
- Do I retain rights over my photos?
- Your contributed images will be your copyright shared with WTI. We reserve the right to publish your contributed images in our collaterals and publications with your credit attribution. However you retain the right to the images for your own use.
- How do I submit my image/images?
- If you fulfil our conditions, you may send a low res thumbnail to Dr Samir Sinha on samir@wti.org.in . The thumbnail must carry related information on location, copyright and details on the original resolution. Once this is accepted and acknowledged, you would be required to send the original /Raw file with your bank details to claim the incentive.
