Krishnendu Basak

Krishnendu Basak is a Postgraduate in Wildlife Sciences from Aligarh Muslim University and dedicated his 10 years in the field of wildlife conservation. He mostly worked on various large carnivore conservation projects that ranged from the rehabilitation of clouded leopards to population estimation and conflict mitigation of the Bengal tiger. His aim is to know the ecology of the large predators and secure their resources to assure their long-term survival in the wild. He also has a keen interest in other cryptic and lesser-known taxa. Bringing them in limelight for further conservation attention is his additional effort. He currently works at the Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation Division with Wildlife Trust of India as officer in charge. Their current project is ‘Tiger Conservation in Sundarban’.
