Subrat Kumar Behera

Subrat joined Wildlife Trust of India in November 2010 immediately on completing Masters in Wildlife Science from North Orissa University, Odisha. He has been working towards recovery of Critically Endangered Gharial and conservation of other aquatic fauna in the Gandak River since 2014. Besides conservation of aquatic fauna in the Gandak River, he has also been working for conservation of Tiger in Valmiki Tiger Reserve, Bihar, and conservation of Sarus Crane in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Before 2014, Subrat worked to mitigate wild animal mortality from the train accident in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, Uttar Pradesh, and surveyed status of elephant corridors in the states of Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
