Between July 2001 and October 2002, the activities of the Wild Enforcement Programme have led to 49 seizures and the arrest of 81 individuals involved in illegal wildlife trade. Most seizures have taken place in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, and Himachal Pradesh. Of note is the seizure of one rhino horn in Assam and the arrest of a major trader in rhino horns. Similar interventions are being pursued on an ongoing basis.
