Beyond the Ban: A Census of Shahtoosh Workers in Jammu & Kashmir
Several thousand workers in Jammu & Kashmir made a living off shahtoosh, the wool derived from killing the endangered Tibetan antelope (Pantholops hodgsonii). IFAW and WTI initiated a survey to assess the actual and potential economic impact of the ban on shahtoosh on these workers and provide suggestions their rehabilitation. Read more »
